GPA & CGPA Calculator
Add your courses with credit hours and grades to get your GPA — and your new cumulative GPA.
Quick answer
GPA = the sum of (grade points × credit hours) ÷ total credit hours. On the 4.0 scale A = 4.00, A- = 3.67, B+ = 3.33, B = 3.00, C = 2.00 and F = 0. Cumulative GPA (CGPA) applies the same formula across all semesters.

How it works
GPA is the average of your grade points weighted by credit hours: each course's grade point is multiplied by its credit hours, the results are added up, and the total is divided by the total credit hours. A 4-credit A counts for more than a 1-credit A. Cumulative GPA does the same across every semester.
The grade points follow the standard 4.0 scale used by most US colleges and many universities worldwide, including HEC-recognised universities in Pakistan (A = 4.00, A- = 3.67, B+ = 3.33 and so on). Some schools use slightly different values or add A+ = 4.00 or 4.33, so check your institution's grading policy if your result looks off by a few hundredths. To get your new cumulative GPA, also enter your current CGPA and the credit hours already completed.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?
GPA usually means one semester or term. CGPA (cumulative GPA) is the weighted average across all semesters completed so far.
What is a good GPA?
On the 4.0 scale, 3.0 (a B average) is generally considered good, and 3.5 or above is strong. Many graduate programs and employers ask for at least 3.0.
How can I raise my cumulative GPA?
Courses with more credit hours move your CGPA the most. The more credits you have already completed, the more high grades it takes to shift the average.
